SOUND ART

The sound compositions by AROTIN & SERGHEI combine sound particles of analog instruments, voices and musical fragments with a surrounding electronic resonance space, that opens up into infinity. Elements of collective memory, sounds of nature, extraterrestrial scientific recordings from astrophysical platforms, fragments of human voices and electronically generated sound spectra appear, disappear and return transformed in a “dream-like oneiric space of free thought” – as Karine Tissot described the artists’ installation at the Fondation Beyeler in her article for Art Passion.

In the words of Ivan Fedele, the director of the Festival of Contemporar Music part of the Venice Biennale: AROTIN studied composition, music theory, electronic music, theatre, film and new image techniques. SERGHEI is philosopher and studied the etymology of languages.
AROTIN & SERGHEI bring the fundamental humanistic idea of the Renaissance, the expansion of space and thought, into our time ... The vanishing point becomes a place at which the screen opens up. The wall crumbles through the illusion of infinity.
